Donegal manager Rory Gallagher says he will not select Paul Durcan while the Ballyboden St. Enda's goalkeeper is based in Qatar.
The All Star goalkeeper has played 51 championship matches for Donegal since making his senior debut in 2004 against Antrim, but the quantity surveyor has move to Qatar since last season after his wife accepted a post in the Middle Eastern country.
Durcan won a county medal with his home club Four Masters in 2003 but switched to Ballyboden St. Enda's in 2015 when he was based in Dublin.
The 31-year-old returned home to represent Ballyboden during their All-Ireland club football title success in March, but Gallagher says the arrangement won't work at inter-county level and that he will only consider him if he returns to work in Ireland.
"Paul is out in Qatar, as everybody knows, and he was flying in and out. It's not a runner to fly in and out for inter-county football, so while it worked out very well fort Ballyboden, he's just weighing up to see is it possible for him to come back," the Donegal manager said.
"As soon as Paul knows, we'll know, but at the minute we just move on. We're very comfortable that we've got two keepers who have shared eight league games between them."
