Double blow for Saints

Charlie Austin is facing several weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has said.

Austin was forced off on the hour-mark of Southampton's 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth and Koeman admits he is likely to be out of action for several weeks.

"For sure Charlie is a hamstring injury, [that's] what I heard from the doctor," Koeman explained.

Republic of Ireland international Shane Long was substituted just ten minutes later but the manager is hopeful his injury is not too serious.

"Shane was a kick on his knee and I think that's not so bad, but I think Charlie will be out for several weeks," he said.
