Dublin hurlers beat Wexford

Dubs win by 13 points

Dublin hurlers secured their first championship victory over Wexford at Croke Park since 1990 with a 2-19 to 0-12 victory on Saturday evening.

Ger Cunningham's team will meet Kilkenny in the Leinster semi-final at O’Moore Park on 11 June after a convincing 13-point win over the Model County in front of just 13,066 supporters at Croker.

Wexford led by a point just after the quarter-hour mark, but Eamonn Dillon and Darragh O’Connell scored goals to give the Dubs at 2-10 to 0-8 lead at half-time, with David Treacy scoring six points from frees.

It was more of the same in the second half, with 11 different Dublin players eventually getting on the scoresheet, including Ryan O'Dwer, who was making his first appearance of the year from the bench.
