Cage Warriors is coming to the eir Sport Pack after BT Sport confirmed that it will broadcast CWFC events.
Cage Warrior Championship was established in 2002 and is one of the most respected regional MMA promotions in the world, with Conor McGregor and Michael Bisping among those to hone their skills in CWFC before fighting for the UFC.
Beginning with CWFC 78 in Liverpool on September 10, when Chris Fishgold will be defending his lightweight title, BT Sport will cover the remaining Cage Warrior events going forward.
CWFC will stage six shows in 2016 with at least a further ten planned for 2017.
“We’re committed to creating the best possible platform for fighters and fight fans - and this long-term partnership with BT Sport achieves that," CEO Casimir Knight said.
"We will give Europe’s rising MMA stars regular fights on the broadcast home of MMA. This is also a significant step for the CWFC brand, as it will increase our exposure to a mainstream sporting audience as we sit shoulder to shoulder with other leading rights holders. By working with respected broadcast partners like BT Sport, together we can do our bit to grow the sport of MMA.”
BT Sport, which is available to viewers in Ireland as part of the eir Sport Pack, is also the home of Premier League football, Aviva Premiership Rugby and the best of European football.
Setanta Sports is now eir Sport. We have 6 great channels of live sport including eir Sport 1 & 2 and all 4 BT Sport channels. The eir Sport pack is free to all eir broadband customers. To learn more about setting sport free visit www.eir.ie/sport .
