Trainer Gordon Elliott paid tribute to jockey Jack Kennedy, after the 17-year-old rode Outlander to victory in the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown.
The Elliott-trained Don Poli, last year's winner, finished second under jockey with two-time Gold Cup runner-up Djakadam, ridden by Ruby Walsh, in third.
Valseur Lido, who won last month's Down Royal Champion Chase, led at the last but eventually finished fourth under Bryan Cooper, who mad first pick of the Gigginstown Stud horses.
"We've been hitting the crossbar all week so we’re delighted," Elliott said.
"Don Poli was brilliant and Outlander was great. It's a shame for Bryan but it's a hard decision to make and he'll have plenty good opportunities.
"Jack was always in a good place. I thought his last run was his best and he improved again today."
Kerryman Kennedy was thrilled after securing his first Group One victory, and his 100th career win at the age of just 17..
"Bryan (Cooper) picked Valseur Lido so I was lucky to get on Outlander," the Dingle youngster said.
"He travelled and jumped brilliantly he didn't miss a beat the whole way.
"He ran a great race the last day in the John Durkan [Chas]), a length and a quarter behind Djakadam.
"All the family are here and it was great riding my 100th winner and my first Grade One."
