Eriksen agrees Spurs extension

Christian Eriksen has signed a new four-year deal with Tottenham, committing him to the club until June 2020.

Eriksen is understood to have been in negotiations with Tottenham since September 2015 and the lack of a deal had prompted speculation that he could be on the move from White Hart Lane.

Despite reported interest from a number of clubs, Eriksen has agreed a new four year deal to remain with the north London club.

"NEW CONTRACT: We are delighted to announce that @ChrisEriksen8 has signed a new contract with the Club until 2020," the club wrote on Twitter.

"There is a great future at this place and I wouldn't have signed if I didn't see that," Eriksen told Spurs TV.

"Since I came in the last two years we have been going forwards, are taking steps upwards and I want to be a part of it.

"I see a great future, it is going only one way at the moment.

"I think it is a very good group of people and players who can connect with each other and a group of staff who connect with the players.

"We have an idea of where we want to end and hopefully we will achieve that."
