Espargaro makes MotoGP return

Pol Espargaro will return to MotoGP action at this weekend's San Marino GP.

Espargaro missed the last two events of the calendar, Austria and Silverstone, after a crash in Brno left him with a broken collarbone and inflamed spinal cord.

But the Spaniard has recovered in order to feature once more this weekend for the KTM team.

The 27-year-old does have to undergo one final medical test on Thursday to 100% confirm his return to the field, but it would appear that he will pass and take his spot on the grid.

Espargaro was unable to feel his arms and legs after the crash in warm-up for the Czech GP, and spent the following week under observation in hospital, making his swift return all the more remarkable.

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) currently leads the 2018 season from Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha) by 59 points.
