Everton have completed the signing of Wales captain Ashley Williams from Swansea City for a fee believed to be around £12m.
The 31-year-old, who has signed a three-year deal at Goodison Park, joins the Toffees as a direct replacement for John Stones, who completed a £47.5m move to Manchester City on Tuesday morning,
Williams spent eight years with the Welsh club, playing more than 300 games since joining from Stockport in March 2008 for £300,000.
"I believe the club is going in the right direction," he said after putting pen to paper.
The defender revealed that a key factor in his decision to leave the Liberty Stadium was the chance to work with new Everton boss Ronald Koeman who was rated as one of the top defenders in Europe during his playing days.
"He's been one of the greatest centre-halves to ever play the game, so I look forward to learning from him and seeing what he can teach me," Williams added.
Everton are also rumoured to be interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie and Sunderland defender Lamine Kone.
