F1 teams call for qualifying change

All 11 Formula 1 teams have written a letter to the sport's decision-makers calling for the return of the 2015 qualifying format.

Changes to the qualifying system were cleared ahead of the 2016 season, but the format has been criticised by drivers, teams and fans.

There had been calls for the 2015 qualifying format to be used for the Bahrain Grand Prix but the elimination-style format was used once again and could remain in place for the race in China later this month.

Officials failed to find a resolution at a meeting before Sunday's race in Bahrain and now the Formula 1 teams have written to the rulemakers calling for the current system to be scrapped.
