FA confirm Cup replay date

The FA Cup quarter-final replay between West Ham and Manchester United has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 13.

The FA spent some time looking at suitable dates for the game before deciding on April 13. The game will kick-off at the earlier time of 7pm due to Champions League football on the same night.

However, the FA will avoid a fine for scheduling the match on a Champions League night because Manchester City are due to play the previous evening.

"Extensive discussions have taken place with all associated parties regarding the scheduling of this fixture, with limited options available," a statement from the FA read.

"The FA recognises the agreed date may not be an ideal solution for all, but believed it was the most appropriate available within the congested football calendar."

The winners of the replay will face Everton at Wembley ten days later.
