Faugheen swerves Hatton's Grace

Fans of Faugheen will have to wait to see the 2015 Champion Hurdle winner make his season bow after he was ruled out of Sunday's Bar One Racing Hatton's Grace Hurdle.

Willie Mullins' charge, who has not run since winning the Irish Champion Hurdle in January, had been expected to make his season bow in the Morgiana Hurdle a fortnight ago but missed the Punchestown feature because of a stone bruise.

Connections had entered him in Hatton's Grace Hurdle but he was not among the seven declarations on Friday morning.

Instead, Mullins and owner Richi Ricci will rely on OLBG Mares' Hurdle heroine Vroum Vroum Mag, while the County Carlow handler will also saddle RSA Chase runner-up Shaneshill and Whiteout.

Apple's Jade finished second in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle last weekend and will make a quick return to action for Gordon Elliott, who also saddles Dedigout, while Triumph Hurdle winner Ivanovich Gorbatov will take his chance for Joseph O'Brien.

The Noel Meade-trained Monksland completes the seven-runner field.
