West Ham have succeeded in having Sofiane Feghouli's three-match ban overturned on appeal.
Feghouli was sent off by referee Mike Dean just 15 minutes into West Ham's 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Monday for a challenge on defender Phil Jones.
Manager Slaven Bilic was adamant the challenge did not warrant a red card and hinted the club would appeal against the three-match ban.
The Hammers lodged the appeal ahead of Tuesday's deadline and vice-chairwoman Karren Brady has confirmed that he will be eligible to play in the FA Cup third round tie against Manchester City on Friday.
"I have just received a call to confirm Sofiane will not be required to serve a 3 match suspension and is eligible to play friday," Brady tweeted.
A short time later the Football Association confirmed the West Ham player had succeeded in his appeal.
"Sofiane Feghouli has had his claim of wrongful dismissal upheld today [Wednesday 4 January 2017] following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing," a statement from the FA read.
"The West Ham United player was sent off for serious foul play during the game against Manchester United on Monday 2 January 2017.
"The standard three-match suspension has, therefore, been withdrawn with immediate effect."
