Fer completes Swansea switch

Swansea have completed the signing of Leroy Fer from Queens Park Rangers for an undisclosed fee.

Fer enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Liberty Stadium last season and has signed a three-year contract to join the Swans on a permanent basis.

The midfielder made his debut for Swansea against Tottenham and went on to make a further ten appearances for Francesco Guidolin’s side as they finished 12th in the Premier League.

He joins from QPR where he made 50 appearances.

“I am very happy to be back. From the first moment I came here, I felt at home," Fer told the club's official website.

“The boys were good to me and they made it very easy for me.

“I am very happy to sign for Swansea and I hope to do my best and be important for the team.”

He added: “If we play like we did in the second half of last season, I think we can aim to finish higher.

“That’s what we want. When I first came here we were in 17th place, but we finished the season in 12th. We did very well in the second half of the season.

“We have a strong team with good players.

“Hopefully we will have some new, strong players coming in to help us as well, so I am looking forward to next season.

“We have good players and some good midfielders,” he added. “Everybody here wants to play and they all want to compete. I am the same. I think that situation makes the team stronger.”
