Final field of 16 for Derby

There were just two withdrawals from Saturday's Investec Derby at the 48-hour declaration stage to leave a final field of 16 for the Epsom Classic.

Aidan O'Brien took out Beacon Rock and Bravery at Thursday's final declaration stage but he will still have five representatives in the feature with US Army Ranger spearheading his quintet.

Ryan Moore will partner the Chester Vase winner, while Deauville (Jamie Spencer), Idaho (Seamie Heffernan), Port Douglas (Colm O'Donoghue) and Shogun (Donnacha O'Brien) completing the Ballydoyle interest.

The strong Irish-trained contingent will also feature Dermot Weld's Harzand and Moonlight Magic from Jim Bolger's yard.

Dante Stakes winner Wings Of Desire was one of four horses supplemented on Monday and John Gosden's charge has stood his ground alongside the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Ulysses and Across The Stars.

Godolphin's famous silks will be carried by the Andre Fabre-trained Cloth Of Stars as 2000 Guineas runner-up Massaat will take his chance for Owen Burrows.

Algometer, Biodynamic, Humphrey Bogart and Red Verdon complete the field.

Meanwhile, Found and Postponed will meet in the Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Cup on the same card.

Found had been expected to miss the race after finishing second in the Tattersalls Gold Cup but the filly has been declared and will take on the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes winer.

Postponed is joined in the race by stable companion Roseburg, while Simple Verse and Arabian Queen will provide stiff opposition.

Luca Cumani's Second Step, the James Fanshawe-trained Star Storm and Rod Millman's Master Carpenter complete the field.
