Fitzmaurice reappointed for two years

Eamonn Fitzmaurice is to remain at the helm of the Kerry senior footballers for another two years.

Fitzmaurice has been in charge of the Kingdom for the last four years and during his tenure Kerry have won four successive Munster titles and were crowned All-Ireland champions, with Dublin the only team to have beaten them in the Championship.

The Fingue man was handed a one-year extension on the back of Kerry's All-Ireland final defeat to Dublin and there was speculation that he would step down from his position following the semi-final loss to Dublin last month.

However, his reappointment for a further two years was ratified at a meeting of the Kerry County Board on Tuesday night.

Fitzmaurice will confirm his backroom team at a later date.
