Tyson Fury's boxing licence has been suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control, pending further investigation into 'anti-doping and medical issues'.
Fury's suspension comes just hours after he vacated his WBO, WBA and IBO heavyweight titles to focus fully on his treatment for depression.
The 28-year-old was crowned world heavyweight champion when he defeated Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015 but he has twice pulled out of a planned rematch, while he was charged with a doping offence by the UK's anti-doping body in June.
In a recent interview he admitted to taking cocaine to help him deal with his depression and the BBBoC has confirmed his licence has been suspended pending further investigation.
"The British Boxing Board of Control confirms that Mr. Fury’s boxer’s licence is suspended pending further investigation into anti-doping and medical issues," a statement read.
Fury must meet with the BBBoC before a decision is taken on the future of his boxing licence.
