Neil Gallagher will not feature in Donegal's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final against Dublin on Saturday.
Gallagher has been struggling with injury for some time and, despite reports that he was set to feature at Croke Park this weekend, Donegal manager Rory Gallagher has confirmed he will sit out the game.
“Neil is still working his way back to fitness but he has not done much training,” said Gallagher is quoted as saying in the Irish News.
“So getting up to match speed is going to be difficult for him. He is able to do a bit of running.
“We have no casualties, there were a few twinges after the Cork match but nothing too serious. A few of the older brigade had a few twinges.”
Galway goalkeeper Colm Callanan has hinted that he will play on in 2018 because "there's not too much running" in his role.
