Gavin extends Dublin tenure

Jim Gavin has agreed to stay on as Dublin senior football manager until the end of the 2021 championship.

Having agreed a two-year extension in May 2017 which would have taken him up to the end of the 2019 campaign, Gavin has not committed to another three years at the helm.

Gavin was first appointed in October 2012 and under his guidance Dublin have won five All-Ireland titles, six Leinster crowns as well as five National Football League titles.

"Jim has contributed so much time and hard work on a voluntary basis to the Dublin team and I thank him and his backroom team for their continued efforts and dedication," Dublin County Board chairman Sean Shanley commented.
