Grealish to return to first-team fold

Aston Villa's Jack Grealish is expected to return to first-team training this week.

Aston Villa's Jack Grealish is expected to return to first-team training this week.

Grealish was forced to train with the club's Under-21s after pictures emerged of his partying with friends in Manchester following Villa's 4-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.

He was subsequently left out of the match-day squad for the games against Watford and Southampton with manager Remi Garde refusing to put a time-frame on his return.

Garde has confirmed the 20-year-old will feature for the reserves on Monday before rejoining the first team.

"Jack Grealish will play with the reserve team on Monday and will probably join the group after that," Garde revealed.

Having secured a point against Southampton at the weekend, Garde has turned his attention to the game against Arsenal, the club he played for in the 1990s.

"It's a very good feeling (to face Arsenal again). But my personal feelings are not very important," Garde said.

"Of course I have very good memories and a strong relationship with this English football club but I know that it is a very good side and they will come to Villa Park to win the game.

"For us it will be very tough but I expect my players to be like they were (in the 0-0 draw with Manchester) City."
