Manchester City are close to signing Claudio Bravo from Barcelona, manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed.
Barcelona confirmed at the weekend that they had reached an agreement with City over the goalkeeper and the 33-year-old is expected in Manchester on Tuesday ahead of a medical.
Guardiola was asked about the situation during his press conference ahead of City's Champions League play-off second-leg and did not deny reports of Bravo's impending arrival.
"I cannot deny what everyone knows," he replied. "But until a deal is complete, I cannot answer."
Bravo's arrival could signal the end of Joe Hart's time at the Etihad Stadium as the England international has failed to feature in any of City's first three games of the season.
He has been told he is free to seek a move away from the Etihad but Guardiola has refused to speculate on his future at the club.
"I have said many times that he is a player for us and I work with all the players that are here," he adds. "It’s easier to work with small squads. We have a huge squad right now and in the Premier League, there are more games and more physical games."
Hart took part in Tuesday's training session and he could find himself back in the starting line-up for the game against Steaua Bucharest.
"It’s difficult for me to leave players out. We’ve played tough games in the last week. I will make some rotations," Guardiola said.
