Guardiola hopes City build on win
Pep Guardiola was full of praise for his Manchester City players and the FA Cup itself after he watched them humiliate West Ham in the third round on Friday night.
Playing the first ever FA Cup tie at their new London Stadium, the Hammers were outclassed, slipping to a 5-0 hammering in front of the television cameras.
Although Slaven Bilic will be alarmed by the extent of his side's collapse after going behind, in truth City were outstanding and they left Guardiola purring afterwards.
"We were able to keep the ball more than the last games," the Spaniard said. "We created more chances. Before the penalty we had three or four clear chances. After the second and third goal it was easy in the second half.
"It's important to win away but it's not easy. I'd like to involve the fans and make them believe we are good. We are the good guys - we run a lot and fight.
"We were focused. In Spain the cup is completely different, it's almost impossible to be eliminated in the early rounds but here it's amazing.
"People spoke a lot before I came here about how important it is and that anything can happen.
"It's always fascinating and that match was like a final, you are either in or out. Now we are happy because we are in the draw."
