Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes his side’s 3-1 win against West Ham was their best Premier League performance to date.
A superb display in the first half by the Blues complimented with two goals from Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho respectively helped Guardiola’s men to a two goal lead at half-time.
Despite conceding mid-way through the second half after Michail Antonio headed home at the back-post, City held their nerves and put the game to bed when Sterling finished from an awkward angle.
“In Bucharest, we were brilliant as well, but in the Premier League it was our best.” He told the BBC.
“We started good in the second half, but after we conceded to West Ham, It’s not easy but they did really well.
“At 2-1, the emotions, not the tactics, went in. We created many chances, I don't know how many shots we had but the performance in general was really good with or without the ball. With the quality of our players, we can be satisfied."
Sergio Aguero was lucky to stay on the field after it seemed he made contact to Winston Reid’s’ face off the ball, although he may face retrospective action from the FA, meaning he could be banned for the Manchester derby on the 10th of September.
Guardiola refused to speculate on this matter, stating: "I didn't see it, if we lose him, we lose him we will still have 11."
