Germany international Ilkay Gundogan will miss this summer's European Championships after suffering a dislocated kneecap in training.
The injury means the Borussia Dortmund player will not be available for the DFB-Pokal final against Bayern Munich on May 21, while he will not feature in Joachim Low's squad for Euro 2016.
“Season off! @Guendogan8's kneecap is dislocated in team training.” Dortmund wrote on Twitter.
Manchester City are understood to be chasing the 25-year-old, who has made 36 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund so far this season, with reports claiming they have offered him a five-year deal to move to the Etihad Stadium.
