Hamilton quickest in final practice


World champion Lewis Hamilton topped the timesheets in the final practice session for Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix.

The Mercedes' driver's lap of 1mins 34.434 secs at the resurfaced Sepang circuit was 0.445 seconds quicker than Red Bull's Max Verstappen in second for Red Bull, and almost five seconds qyuicker than the fastest time recorded at the track in the dry last year.

Championship leader Nico Rosberg was third in his Mercedes, ahead of Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen and last year’s winner Sebastian Vettel in fifth who knocked out a trackside bollard in an otherwise harmless spin at the final corner.

Australian Daniel Ricciardo was sixth for Red Bull, about a second behind Hamilton but ahead of Force India's Nico Hulkenberg in seventh.

Williams' Valtteri Bottas was eighth, the Toro Rosso of Carlos Sainz was ninth and the second Williams of Felipe Massa finished tenth.
