West Ham are to appeal the red card shown to Sofiane Feghouli during the defeat to Manchester United.
The Hammers were reduced to ten men after just 15 minutes of the match at the London Stadium when referee Mike Dean sent Feghouli off for a challenge on United defender Phil Jones.
They battled on for more than an hour before Juan Mata netted for the visitors with Zlatan Ibrahimovic adding a second in the 78th minute.
Manager Slaven Bilic was unhappy with the decision to send off Feghouli, believing Jones had 'made a meal' of the tackle.
“I am with the majority of what the football fans think and that is it was never a red card, to be fair. It was a challenge from both of them and it is the other way around. The more dangerous foul is by Jones, because he went with the scissors," Bilic said.
“Feghouli very rarely makes a foul and his foot was not high in the air. It’s not deliberate and, for me, that was the crucial decision in the game. That early, it killed us and killed the game and put the game into a totally different perspective."
The Hammers had until 1pm on Tuesday to register their appeal.
