Harrington in Texas Open hunt

Dublin four shots off lead after round three

Padraig Harrington fired a four-under-par 68 to sit just four shots off the pace at the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio.

The lead is held by American Ricky Barnes who shot a sizzling six-under 66, which included birdies on four of the last eight holes - to lead by a single stroke from compatriot Brendan Steele.

Like Harrington, Barnes' round ended on a disappointing note as he bogeyed the par-five 18th but he still holds a one-shot advantage over overnight leader Steele who ground out a round of 72.

Luke Donald and Charley Hoffman are in joint third place a further stroke adrift while Patrick Reed continues his recent form sitting in ffith place, three off the lead.

Three-time major champion Harrington is joined on -7 by five players, including American Billy Horschel.

Leaderboard: -11 R Barnes (US); -10 B Steele (US; -9 L Donald (Eng), C Hoffman (US); -8 P Reed (US); -7 B Horschel (US), C Collins (US), P Harrington (Ire), M Piller (US), J Curran (US), N Taylor (Can).
