Jordan Henderson will be fit for Euro 2016, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.
Henderson suffered a knee ligament injury in the Europa League quarter-final first leg draw against Borussia Dortmund and it was thought he would be out for up to eight weeks.
An eight-week recovery would have ruled him out of the start of Euro 2016 but the midfielder is back training at Melwood and could yet feature for Liverpool in the Europa League final against Villarreal.
When asked for an update on Henderson's condition, Klopp told reporters: "Really good news. We had to rest him for a long time so he could not do a lot as we tried everything to avoid surgery, which isn't necessary.
"Yesterday, he trained - not with the team - and it looked good. He was only passing and running but looked OK.
"It's nine days until the Europa League final and we will have to see (if he is fit for that) but it is 100% he will be fit for Euro 2016 in France."
