Juventus have completed the signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli for €90 million.
The Argentine striker has long been linked with a move to the Serie A champions but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis had warned Juventus that they would have to match the release clause in order to sign the player.
Juventus agreed to pay the transfer fee in two instalments of £39million with Higuain understood to have agreed a four-year deal worth up to £8.3m a year with bonuses after tax.
Higuain, who joined Napoli in 2013 and had another two years to run on his contract, scored 36 goals in 35 Serie A games last season.
"Juventus Football Club can today confirm that it has purchased the registration rights of Gonzalo Higuain for 90million euros, payable in two financial years," the Serie A giants confirmed.
"The player has agreed a five-year contract with the club."
