The Football Association of Wales have rejected Hull's approach to speak to Chris Coleman about the managerial vacancy at the KC Stadium.
Hull are without a manager following Steve Bruce's decision to leave the club following a breakdown in his relationship with Hull vice-chairman Ehab Allam.
Coleman signed a new two-year deal before guiding Wales to Euro 206 and the FAW are keen to keep hold of him, rejecting Hull's approach for their manager.
“The Football Association of Wales can confirm that it has received an official approach from Hull City FC for the services of manager Chris Coleman," a statement from the FAW read.
“Following discussions amongst leading figures within the association the approach has been rejected.
“Chris Coleman signed a new two-year contract in May 2016 ahead of the Uefa European Championships in France and the Fifa World Cup in 2018.”
Roberto Martinez and Gianfranco Zola have been also been linked with the Hull vacancy.
