Hull stepping up managerial search
Hull City hope to have a new manager in place within the next seven days as they prepare for life in the Premier League.
The Tigers are without a permanent manager following Steve Bruce's decision to leave the club after four years in charge.
Bruce's departure came just days after he had revealed that he had spoken to the Football Association about the then vacant England manager's job - Sam Allardyce was subsequently named as Roy Hodgson’s successor.
Hull reacted to Bruce's interview by drafting a shortlist of potential replacements and they have started to interview potential managers with former Everton manager Roberto Martinez one of those believed to be on the list.
Mike Phelan has been placed in temporary charge, but the former Manchester United assistant has made it clear he would like to be considered for the job.
