Zlatan Ibrahimovic has given the strongest indication yet that he could remain at Manchester United beyond the end of the current season.
Ibrahimovic signed a one-year contract when he joined United on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, but he has the option of extending his stay by a further 12 months.
The striker has made a big impact since moving to Old Trafford, scoring 26 goals in all competitions, and fans would be delighted if he opted to remain at the club for another season.
Napoli and LA Galaxy have both been linked with a move for the former Sweden international, but Ibrahimovic has confirmed that he is in talks with officials about extending his United deal.
"Let's see what happens, we are talking," he told the Manchester Evening News.
"I have an option for another year, I want to do great as long as I'm here, so let us see, there is a lot of time.
"I'm enjoying being at a fantastic club, without doubt, one of the biggest clubs in the world, with a great coach," he added, referring to Jose Mourinho, who worked with the Swede at Inter.
"I know him before, he's a winner, he's the perfect coach for this club.
"Being a Manchester United player, I don't know how many people have that possibility, but I am a Man United player, people wanted me here, I chose the club, I chose the best English club, that's the way it works."
