Identity Thief set for chasing bow

Henry de Bromhead has confirmed Identity Thief will make his chasing debut later this month.

The six-year-old won the WKD Hurdle and the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle before going on to finish sixth behind Annie Power in the Champion Hurdle. He ended his season with second place in the Irish Champion Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival and connections have decided to send him over the larger obstacles this term.

De Bromhead is pleased with how he is shaping ahead of his chasing bow and has revealed the Gigginstown Stud-owned gelding could make his season debut in the coming weeks.

"He seems in good form and we were looking at maybe Punchestown or Galway next week subject to ground; we just want a nice ease in the ground," de Bromhead explained.

"He's in super form and jumping well so we're happy."

Conor McGregor will fight Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt at UFC 205 in New York on November 12 live on the eir Sport pack. The eir Sport pack is free to all eir broadband customers. To learn more about setting sport free visit www.eir.ie/sport .
