Leading Irish National Hunt jockey Paul Carberry has announced his retirement from racing due to injury.
The Grand Nationa and Irish Gold Cupl-winning rider has not ridden competitively since fracturing his left femur in a fall at Listowel last September.
Carberry, 42, had hoped to return to the saddle but has been advised by his doctor to call time on his riding career.
"I saw my surgeon today and he advised me to stop,” he said.
“My leg's not strong enough. I feel gutted."
