Irish Derby winner Jack Hobbs has been found to have a stress fracture to his pelvis which will keep him on the sidelines until the autumn.
William Buick was quick to jump off the four-year-old shortly after pulling him up in the last week's Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket.
He underwent tests which detected the problem but connections expect him to make a full recovery in the coming months and will target a return to the track later in the year.
"Following light exercise, Jack Hobbs appeared uncomfortable. An ultrasonic scan has shown an undisplaced stress fracture of the near side wing of the ilium," a statement from owners Godolphin read.
"Whilst it is unfortunate the horse has suffered an injury there is no reason why he won't return to one hundred percent fitness and health later in the year."
