Ireland shoot up FIFA world rankings
Ireland have shot up the FIFA world rankings and now sit in 23rd place, their highest point since April 2012.
The 1-0 World Cup qualifier win in Austria sees the boys in green jump 10 places and are now at the loftiest peak since their 18th position four years ago.
Northern Ireland have moved up four places after their thumping victory over Azerbaijan and are now in 32nd place.
Argentina remain the top-ranked side despite their struggles in World cup qualification with bitter rivals Brazil now in second position.
Fellow South Americans Chile had leapfrogged Belgium and Colombia into fourth place just behind world champions Germany.
Wales and England meanwhile have both dropped a single place and now lie in 12th and 13th respectively.
