Jagielka out of England squad


Everton captain Phil Jagielka is to return to his club after withdrawn from the England squad do to injury.

Jagielka had joined up with the England squad for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia but he has been ruled out of the games after picking up a thigh injury.

The 34-yer-old will return to Everton to be assessed but the club are hopeful that the injury is not too serious.

Everton are due to travel to Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday week.
