Burnley have announced the signing of Joey Barton until the end of the season.
Barton left Burnley six months ago for Glasgow Rangers, but saw his time at the Scottish Premiership lasted just five matches as he had his contract terminated over a training ground row.
That left Barton without a club until the management at Turf Moor decided to re-sign the controversial midfielder. Barton was to serve a one-match ban north of the border due to breaching gambling rules; however, he registered in time on Sunday to serve his ban during Burnley's Premier League defeat to Man City on Monday, meaning he's available for their FA Cup clash against Sunderland on Saturday.
Barton was Burnley's Player of the Year in the 2015/16 season as the Clarets won promotion to English football's top division before his brief stint at Rangers.
