Jordi Amat signs Swansea extention

Spaniard signs until 2019

Swansea defender Jordi Amat has signed a one-year contract extension which will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until 2019.

The Spaniard signed a one-year extension to his original deal in March of last year and has now opted to stay for a further 12 months.

The 23-year-old has made 48 appearances for the Swans since joining from Espanyol in 2013, but has started just one Barclays Premier League game this season.

"Swans defender @JordiAmat5 has signed a new one-year contract extension at the Liberty Stadium," a statement on the Swansea Twitter account said.

The club have also been boosted by news that forward Kenji Gorre has returned early from his loan spell at Eredivisie side Den Haag.

The 21-year-old made five appearances after joining the Dutch club on an intended season-long loan in July.
