Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino says Harry Kane is likely to be back in action sooner than an expected following an ankle injury.
The 23-year-old suffered ligament damage during his side's 1-0 win over Sunderland on 18 September, and was expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks.
But Pochettino says the England striker, who scored 25 goals in the Premier League last season to win the Golden Boot, is likely to be back in action sooner within that timeframe.
"He is very positive, the scan was very positive last Monday and the expectation is that he can be available sooner than we expected," the Argentine said.
There was further good news on the injury front, with defender Danny Rose and midfielders Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele and Moussa Sissoko all in contention for Sunday's Premier League match against league leaders Manchester City at White Hart Lane.
"I am very positive about the players that have had injuries," he told a news conference on Friday.
"I need to assess them tomorrow but I am very positive on a few of them.
"We need to assess them – today, all are maybe at the same level. We are very positive on them but we have one training session more tomorrow and then I will take a decision."
