Keane: Stones must be stronger
Roy Keane has criticised John Stones for not being tough enough after the Manchester City defender was at fault for Borussia Monchengladbach's goal in their 1-1 Champions League draw on Wednesday night.
The centre-half was dispossessed after being pressurised by Lars Strindl, leading to the opening goal for the German side.
Although David Silva struck to rescue a point for City and ensure they qualified for the knockout stages, Keane still focused on the former Everton defender's mistake and didn't hold back in his analysis.
“It’s pretty straightforward,” the Ireland assistant manager told ITV Sport. “He’s got to be stronger. He’s got to be tougher. It’s just too easy.
“It’s like a child getting knocked off the ball. Really poor defending.
“He’s got to be stronger.
“He’s a good player but he’s just got to be tougher and stronger.”
