Shane Brick, who is regarded as one of Kerry’s greatest ever hurlers, has retired from the game.
Brick, one of the finest Kerry hulers of all-time, had been expected to make a last appearance for Kilmoyley in the the Munster IHC final against Lismore next Sunday, but an ongoing hip injury ruled him out of that clash prompting his decision to hang up his hurl.
He had been playing club hurling with Cork side Tracton before returning to the Kilmoyley setup and made a three-point contribution to in the Kerry SHC final replay win over St Brendan’s; that win saw Brick claim his seventh Kerry county medal, in a match that proved to be his last.
