Kiely re-appointed to Treaty role


John Kiely was ratified as Limerick senior hurling manager for another year at a County Board meeting last night.

Limerick have been re-invigorated since Kiely took charge, winning an All-Ireland, Allianz Leagues and Munster titles over the past 13 months.

However, they lost out to a battling Kilkenny side in this year’s All-Ireland semi-final.

With conditioning coach Joe O'Connor opting to step away from his involvement with the senior panel, Kiely looks set to bring in Mikey Kiely who fulfilled a similar role with the Treaty footballers.

Limerick’s 2013 Munster SHC winning captain Donal O'Grady is also tipped to take up a coach/selector role in place of Brian Geary who departs due to work commitments.
