Jurgen Klopp has defended under fire Loris Karius following his performance in Liverpool's shock defeat to Bournemouth last weekend.
Karius came in for some sharp criticism after making an error as Liverpool let a 3-1 lead slip on their way to a 4-3 defeat at the Vitality Stadium.
Despite his shaky performance, Klopp has refused to put the blame on his number one by comparing him to David De Gea, who he believes is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
"I only heard about harsh criticism. I analysed and eight players could have defended the goal before Loris was involved," Klopp told reporters on Friday.
"Even the best goalkeepers in the world make mistakes. De Gea made one similar recently.
"There is no perfect recipe for development."
Liverpool looked to be cruising to a comfortable victory against Bournemouth but they conceded twice in the space of three minutes to allow the Cherries level the tie before Nathan Ake struck in stoppage time to complete the turnaround.
The Reds welcome West Ham to Anfield on Sunday afternoon and Klopp has warned Slaven Bilic that his side will be angry following their defeat to Bournemouth.
"If there is any influence (on future matches) I have no idea. But what we will be is more angry, angry with ourselves and that's important, but West Ham will be a really tough challenge - an interesting game," Klopp said.
"They need results and we need results too."
