Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists Everton played "wild football" following his side’s 1-0 victory over the Toffees in the Premier League.
Sadio Mane tapped home in the 94th minute after substitution Daniel Sturridge’s miscued shot struck the post and was tucked away by the former Southampton man, to extend their unbeaten run to 13 games over their Merseyside rivals.
Liverpool struggled to deal with Everton early on but the former Borussia Dortmund boss feels that his side did well in the first-half.
"I don't agree it was a poor first half. Maybe not the best football. You have to adapt to Everton's wild game. A game like this you have to interrupt their rhythm with passing." Klopp told the BBC.
The German also praised his side's second-half defensive peformance and suggested his side were the better of the two.
"In the second half it was clear they couldn't do the same - we were better. We didn't give one chance away I think," he added.
"It was not the hardest shot from Sturridge but hard enough. Wonderful feeling. Really, really good. I don't like the flares too much. I'm a little bit scared about this. It was a long, long stoppage time. We gave them no chance."
Liverpool rise to second in the Premier League, six points off leaders Chelsea and will look to reduce the gap when they host Stoke City on the December 27.
