Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is happy to have selection dilemmas because he believes it underlines the strength of his squad.
Klopp made seven changes to his starting XI for Tuesday's 3-0 EFL Cup win at Derby with Marko Grujic and goalkeeper Loris Karius making their first starts for the club and Daniel Sturridge given the night off.
Having recovered from a broken hand, Karius is in line to challenge Simon Mignolet for the number one jersey, while Emre Can's return from injury has boosted the competition for places in midfield.
While he has some tough decisions to make over the coming weeks, Klopp believes it is better for the club to have too much choice than too little.
"The more players I have, the more difficult choices there are for me but the better it is for LFC," Klopp said.
"Can's fitness is not a problem. He has a strong mentality and fight but it is about rhythm - we can't go into a shop and buy rhythm.
"I don't rush it and Emre is cool about it."
Danny Ings made his first start of the season as he continues his recovery from a serious knee ligament injury and Klopp was delighted to see him return to the first team.
"It was a difficult time (for him), I know this but, like all the others, he's on a really good way and everybody can see this," Klopp added.
"We will see what will happen, but he's still an important player for us and it's all good."
