Klopp not interested in Sturridge rumours

Newspaper reports say Sturridge will seek a transfer from Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has laughed off claims that Daniel Sturridge wants to leave Liverpool in the summer.

Several English media outlets reported that Sturridge will seek to leave Anfield at the end of the season because he is unhappy with criticism over his fitness.

The 26-year-old, who returned to training this week, has not played since December 6, but Klopp dismissed any suggestion that the striker will leave the club.

"Who has suggested he wants to leave? I am not interested. He's looked great in training.

"Daniel had problems in the past but this is past. It would be cool to leave it there. Every player needs consistent training to be fit for Premier League football. We have tried everything we could.

"He's had two days training, today is the third. He won't play on Saturday but he could feature against West Ham on Tuesday.

"The Daniel 'story'? There is no story. You can't create stories then ask me about them. It's not frustrating, it's not interesting."
