Klopp sweating on Gomez injury

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Joe Gomez suffered an ankle injury during his side's 3-1 win over Burnley.

Gomez was injured 20 minutes into the game following a challenge from Burnley defender Ben Mee and following treatment he was stretchered from the pitch.

He will be assessed in the coming days but Klopp has confirmed that it is unlikely to be a minor injury.

"It was his ankle," Klopp told his post-match press conference. "Joe is injured and probably not only a little bit. We have to see, we don't know in the moment. We sent him home."

Gomez has made 13 Premier League appearances this season with the team keeping seven clean sheets and Klopp will be hoping to have the defender available for the busy Christmas and New Year schedule.
