Klopp wants transfer window closed

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is not a fan of the transfer window and is looking forward to the day when it closes.

After signing Loris Karius, Ragnar Klavan, Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum before the start of the new season, the Reds enjoyed the perfect start to the campaign as they defeated Arsenal 4-3 at the Emirates.

They were brought back to earth, however, when they went down 2-0 at Burnley on Saturday despite dominating possession at Turf Moor.

While some believe Klopp should strengthen the squad before the transfer deadline on August 31 Klopp, the German feels it would be idiotic to panic buy and he cannot understand people's 'obsession' with the transfer window.

"I wait for the day when the transfer window is closed. I can't believe how obsessed you all are with this," Klopp told reporters on Monday.

"What will happen we will see, I don't know in this moment, but we do not have a preferred position to sign players."

Divock Origi has yet to start a game for Liverpool this season but Klopp believes he can make an impact if he finds his rhythm again.

"Physically, he can make another step. But on the other side, he has no rhythm in the moment, which you can see," the manager explained.

"Saturday [against Burnley] was clear, we could have played another 20 minutes and not scored. He needs to find that rhythm again.

"He is so skilled, but he needs to use them all in the right moment. He is not a very experienced player, he needs to sort all of his skills. He needs to use the right skill in the right moment."
