Koeman hopeful over McCarthy
Ronald Koeman is confident he will be able to call on James McCarthy during a busy December.
McCarthy sat out a number of training sessions ahead of Everton's trip to Southampton on Sunday after complaining of a tight hamstring.
Although he returned to training on Friday, Koeman opted to leave him out of his squad for the trip to St Mary's but he is optimistic he will be available for selection over the next month, starting with the visit of Manchester United on Sunday.
"McCarthy stopped training after the first session (last) week. He was tired and had a little problem in his hamstring again," Koeman told the club's official website.
"He did not train Tuesday or Wednesday. He started training on Friday again and I didn't take the risk of putting him in the team (against Southampton) because we need everybody fit and available for the busy time coming up."
