Petra Kvitova hopes to be fit for Wimbledon despite being forced to withdraw from the Birmingham Classic.
Kvitova withdrew from the French Open ahead of his first round match at Roland Garros due to an ongoing arm injury and at the time was warned by doctors not to play for up to three weeks.
While her recovery is going well, the 29-year-old has confirmed that she will miss the event in Birmingham.
“Unfortunately Birmingham is too soon, but I’m working really hard to get back as soon as possible and - of course -keeping everything crossed for Wimbledon,” Kvitova wrote on Twitter.
Kvitova clinched the women's singles at SW19 in 2011 and 2014.
